美國(guó)土壤學(xué)會(huì)理事長(zhǎng)Michael L. Thompson教授訪問(wèn)交流通知
應(yīng)黑土地保護(hù)與利用全國(guó)重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室(籌)邀請(qǐng)，美國(guó)土壤學(xué)會(huì)理事長(zhǎng)、愛(ài)荷華州立大學(xué)教授Michael L. Thompson將于2024年7月12日至19日到訪中國(guó)科學(xué)院東北地理與農(nóng)業(yè)生態(tài)研究所，開(kāi)展學(xué)術(shù)交流活動(dòng)，就進(jìn)一步加強(qiáng)中美土壤學(xué)會(huì)黑土地保護(hù)利用的合作交流進(jìn)行深入探討。
訪問(wèn)期間，Thompson教授擬于7月12日至17日為所內(nèi)青年科研人員及研究生授課交流，并于7月19日Workshop-1研討會(huì)上作專題學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告，在7月20日的Workshop-2—優(yōu)秀研究生英語(yǔ)論壇和研究生進(jìn)行學(xué)術(shù)交流，在7月22日東北地理所主辦的第四屆黑土地保護(hù)與利用國(guó)際論壇（ICBS4）作大會(huì)特邀報(bào)告。歡迎廣大科研人員和研究生參會(huì)交流！
一、專家簡(jiǎn)介
Michael L. Thompson，愛(ài)荷華州立大學(xué)教授、美國(guó)土壤學(xué)會(huì)理事長(zhǎng)、美國(guó)科學(xué)促進(jìn)會(huì)Fellow、美國(guó)農(nóng)學(xué)會(huì)Fellow，美國(guó)土壤學(xué)會(huì)Fellow，是土壤界面過(guò)程的國(guó)際著名專家，美國(guó)農(nóng)業(yè)部和環(huán)境署等部門的咨詢專家。長(zhǎng)期從事土壤化學(xué)和礦物學(xué)在環(huán)境保護(hù)領(lǐng)域的研究，發(fā)表論文100余篇，出版Soil Genesis and Geomorphology專著4部。Michael Thompson is a professor in the Agronomy Department at Iowa State University, where he has been on the faculty since 1980. He holds a BS in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Illinois and a PhD in Agronomy (soil genesis) from the Ohio State University. His research and teaching programs center on environmental and agronomic applications of soil chemistry and mineralogy.? He is a Fellow of the Soil Science Society of America, the American Society of Agronomy, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In 2024. he serves as the President of the Soil Science Society of America.
